Knowle West Media Centre / Carolyn Hassan

 

"Knowle West is where Carbon Makeover all started. It is a neighbourhood in South Bristol which ranks in the worst 10% in the country for housing, health, educational attainment and employment. In 2007, the carbon footprint of the neighbourhood was scored as one of the worst in the city.

 

Through Carbon Makeover, Knowle West Media Centre has been able to raise the self-esteem and confidence of people in Knowle West. By exploring practical solutions to reducing the communities' carbon footprint, we have helped to develop the social and economic potential of local people. We are now pleased to offer services and support to other communities in the UK."
